リレーコラム2018.9

こんにちは！現在大学４年生の片平遥（キャンプネームはあねき）です。小学生から高校生まで花山キャンプとつまごいスキーキャンプにキャンパーとして参加、そして大学１年生の夏には花山キャンプAコースのカウンセラーを務めました。

私が幼少研のキャンプに参加するきっかけとなったのは幼馴染の存在です。（今回リレーコラムのお話を持ちかけてくれたのも彼女です笑）。そして、キャンプに毎年参加し続けることができたのは、キャンプや自然が好きだったというのもありますが、一番は幼少研のキャンプを通じてできた仲間がいたおかげだと断言できます。今年の夏、同年代の仲間たちが10人ほど集まり飲み会が行われました。そのメンバーの中には、私がキャンパーを卒業して以来全く会っていない人もいましたが、昔話に花を咲かせるうちに数年ぶりのぎこちなさもあっという間に霧散し、花山やつまごいで過ごした日々の濃さを改めて実感しました。

そんな幼少研のキャンプでの経験は私の性格形成にも大きな影響を及ぼしています。今の私を知る人はあまり想像できないかもしれませんが、もともと私は中学生までどちらかというと引っ込み思案で安定志向でした。そんな私が花山の登山で挑戦しなかったことを後悔し、それ以降はチャレンジ精神を大切にするようになりました。また、事なかれ主義だった私が大勢の前で自分の意見をしっかりと言えるようになったのもキャンプでの経験があったからです。今の私が中学生のころの自分に「あなたは大学生になったら100人規模のサークルの幹部を務めるんだよ」とか、「〇年後にはこんなに険しい登山コースを踏破するんだよ」と言っても、中学生の私は絶対に信じられないと思います。そのくらいキャンプが私に与えた影響は大きく、いまの私を語る上で花山やつまごいの話を欠くことはできません。

花山のうたにもある通り、文字通り「自然のなかで育った」私は、来年の春からついに社会人になります。学生の今とは違い、自分のする一つ一つの行動に責任を伴うというのが不安で、まだ就職の半年前だというのに少し緊張しています。それでも、キャンプの経験の中で培ったリーダーシップやチャレンジ精神が大学生活でも活かせたように、社会人になってもいろいろなことに挑戦していきたいと思います。

私にとってそうであったように、今後参加するキャンパーやカウンセラーの皆さんにとって花山やつまごいがかけがえのない場所であり続けることを願っています。
