リレーコラム：河辺杜夫

こんにちは．現在，千葉大学４年生の河辺杜生（キャンプネーム：ソミー）です！僕は小学校低学年から十数年の間，花山キャンプと嬬恋スキーキャンプに参加していました．大学生になってからは，幼少年カウンセラーユニオン（CU）に入り，春秋の週末で行われる夢キャンプにカウンセラーとして参加しました．

僕にとっての花山キャンプは，青春であり成長の場でした．キャンパーとしてキャンプに参加していた時は，毎年夏と冬に久しぶりに会える仲間がいることが長期休みの何よりもの楽しみでした．初めて会うメンバーも登山や日常生活での共同生活を経て一週間後には忘れられない仲間となっていることも，キャンプの魅力の一つであったと思います．現在も年に何回か会うメンバーもいます，まさに青春であったなと考えています．

大学生になってカウンセラーとしてキャンプに参加するようになってからは，様々な成長の機会を頂きました．キャンプには数多くの危険が潜んでいるため，リスクマネジメントを学ぶことができました．時間の使い方について，登山で山行計画を作った時にリスケジュールを含めた計画力も教えてもらいました．他にも素早い決断力の重要性やスキルとしてのリーダーシップなど多くのことを教えてもらい，実行力の成長に強く影響したと考えています．当時は教えてもらっても実行に移すことが難しいこともありましたが，CUを卒業した現在の日常生活ではその知識が生きる場面が多くあり，その度に学べて良かったと感じます．

今年度から自分は大学院に進学し，レントゲンなどの医療機器の研究を行います．分野はキャンプと違いますが，研究は人から教わるのではなく自ら考え実行する必要があり，実行力が重要です．そのため，今後もCUで学んだ力を活かしていけると思います．このように僕がキャンプで得たものは沢山あります．キャンプで出会った素晴らしい仲間も十分な宝物ではありますが，後半で触れたような知識もキャンプで得られた重要な事柄だと考えています．
